RWA Annual Open Exhibition 2025

I am really thrilled to have my sculpture Dawn selected for this year’s Open Exhibition at the RWA in Bristol. The exhibition will run from 6th September to 28th December 2025. On Friday the 5th September I thoroughly enjoyed the Varnishing Day, catching up with a couple of artists and seeing the rest of this fabulous exhibition.

In the studio, Nicola is now working solely in wood, exploring textures and architectural features found in old ruins; at the moment she is working on some larger wood pieces which stand as absorbing isolated forms, alongside groups of tall wood carvings focusing on environments of peace and stillness.  Her latest trio of tall Oak sculptures (Vessels) are made as an installation for the interior of a church building, with the texture of flowing water carving out the centre of each abstract figure.
